In the hull design proces, we use Computer Aided Drafting to model our canoe shape with our desired dimensions within the ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition.
This process is usually completed during Summer before school starts.

In our structural analysis, we apply the basic principles of statics in order to determine the forces that are displaced throughout the canoe to ensure that it can withstand the weight of our passengers and additional stresses caused during paddling.
Generally, we are not allowed to perform 3D analysis

The design of our mix can make or break (literally!) the success of our concrete canoe.
There are several factors that we must consider for our concrete canoe which includes sustainability, density, strength, workability, and even durability.
No previous experience with concrete materials is necessary to participate.
